eMIS Platform DATAengines -
Connecting real plant and equipment
DEDICATEDengines interfacing,
between the plant and the internet is through DEDICATED 'MIMIC' DATAengines.
These compact units form the on-site element of the eMIS Enterprise Management
Information System open platform and provide a direct interface between plant
signals and Internet type protocols.
Inside each MIMIC is a PC with
silicon hard disk drive and Internet compatible TCP/IP software.
There
is a wide range of I/O interfacing for analog, digital and ASCII data
types.
These ruggedised interfaces are fully specified for light and
heavy industrial applications. Connection is made directly to industrial
control loops and signals using 2 part, screw terminals. Common with other
industrial control equipment, they run from 24V dc power.
Unobtrusive Monitoring
The MIMIC DATAengine series is
designed to monitor existing legacy plant signals directly without requiring
additional buffers or repeaters.
Digital inputs are Opto isolated and
have 100k ohms input impedance, so they can be safely connected to existing 24V
plant signals.
Analog inputs can be high impedance voltage, or low
compliance current loop. With less than 1V drop, a MIMIC DATAengine can be
connected in series with existing instrumentation without degrading the
signal. |
